Local Government in Japan
Local Government in Japan is a regularly revised publication produced by CLAIR, divided into three sections: ‘Outline of Local Autonomy in Japan’, ‘Challenges Facing Local Government’ and ‘Promoting Decentralization Reforms’. The latest edition (2022) published can be downloaded here (PDF).
CLAIR Best Practices
CLAIR aims to support local governments by contributing to their overseas strategies and helping them gain publicity and develop relations between cities. To achieve this, it has collected the Best Practices which are some of the leading-edge policies being created by local governments to combat issues affecting Japan on a national scale. With this information, CLAIR hopes to encourage collaboration and relations with local governments overseas.
The 2022 case studies and archives of previous years can be viewed on the CLAIR website.
