This family-run firm showcased its pivotal role in Nissan’s regional supply chain, emphasizing the synergy between local authorities and logistics sectors, bolstered by the Teesside Freeport’s allure for sustainable investments.
Next, Teesside University’s Net Zero Industry Innovation Centre illuminated the power of academia-industry collaboration. Here, amidst discussions on carbon capture, circular economy innovations, and strategic partnerships with counterparts in Japan, we witnessed the emergence of transformative global alliances.
Our sessions delved into the university’s pivotal role in regional economic dynamics, highlighting strengths in computing, AI, and digital creativity. Notably, advancements in VR technology for local fire services underscored the institution’s commitment to innovation across sectors.
Navigating Middlesbrough’s urban development under new governance frameworks shed light on unique demographic challenges, setting a backdrop for inspiring encounters at graduate enterprise labs. Meeting with thriving local firms in gaming and life sciences underscored the area’s entrepreneurial spirit and innovation ecosystem.
A visit to Middlesbrough Institute of Modern Art (MIMA) offered insights into the region’s cultural fabric before concluding at Teesside International Airport. Here, the Aviation Academy’s pioneering partnership fostered by the university, airport, and Tees Valley Combined Authority emerged as a beacon of regional growth and employment opportunities for graduates.
