Twenty years since the success of the 2001 event, the FINA World Championships, where top-level aquatic athletes from around the globe go head-to-head, will once again be held here in Fukuoka. This world-renowned compact city will take advantage of its concentrated urban functions and strive to provide a Championships where the entire city can experience the thrill of the event. Not stopping there, Fukuoka will utilise the latest, cutting-edge technology so viewers can enjoy a new way to watch the events like never before. Fukuoka citizens and spectators from around the world will come together in a festival of excitement to create a swimming competition for the future of aquatic sports!
Moreover, the FINA World Masters Championships will be held over the cities of Fukuoka, Kumamoto and Kagoshima to spread the wonders of aquatic sports and the passion and enthusiasm of the Masters Championships throughout the region of Kyushu and on to the entirety of Japan!
