Kanazawa City is now accepting applications for “2022 Kogei World Competition in Kanazawa” in the 5th Triennale of Kogei in Kanazawa.
The Triennale of Kogei in Kanazawa is an event held once every three years and the fifth event will be held in 2022. The “2022 Kogei World Competition in Kanazawa ” held as part of this event is an international competition that showcases new innovations in craft (kogei), and the city started accepting works from October 2021.
The theme for the competition is “Craft Visions.” We look forward to works that capture the essence of contemporary expression from the perspective of crafts. The competition will encourage the participation of young artists by this year offering a Next Generation Award for entrants under 35.
Works that pass the first round of judging, including award-winning entries, will be exhibited in the People’s Gallery of the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa from Sunday, November 13 to Wednesday, November 30, 2022, for the 5th Triennale of Kogei in Kanazawa.
