Local food from the disaster-hit Tohoku region of Japan will feature at this year’s WOMAD festival in Wiltshire on 29-31 July. The display, by performers Shunsuke Kimura and Etsuro Ono, will take place as part of the festival’s ‘Taste of the World’ programme and is coordinated by the London-based mu:arts organisation.
The ‘Taste of the World’ programme is an opportunity for artists to introduce traditional cuisine from their country of origin, with performances by the artists/cooks taking place between the cooking and serving to the audience at the festival, the ‘World of Music, Arts and Dance’ which is now in its 29th year.
