Asian Network of Major Cities 21 and Tokyo Month

The Asian Network of Major Cities 21 (ANMC21) is an international network of Asian capital and major cities, undertaking joint projects on common tasks regarding crisis management, environmental countermeasures and industrial development, with the aim of increasing development and prosperity in the Asian region. The cities involved are Bangkok, Delhi, Hanoi, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Metropolitan Manila, Seoul, Singapore, Taipei, Tokyo and Yangon. The organisation’s plenary meeting held once a year includes discussions on the theme of member cities’ policies and presents reports on issues of special consideration as part of its agenda.

Coinciding with the Asian Network of Major Cities 21 (ANMC21) Plenary Meeting to be held in Tokyo in November 2010, the ANMC21 has designated the months of October and November as Tokyo Asian Month. The event will introduce the varied cultures and traditions found throughout Asia, as well as its latest industrial technologies, providing a platform for the people of Tokyo to broaden their understanding of their neighbors in the region. The event will run from October 1 to November 30 2010.
