JETAA UK Annual General Meeting in Birmingham

Director Noboru Fujishima, Assistant Director Yuji Akaike and Communications and Events Assistant Phillippa Harvey attended the UK Japan Exchange and Teacher (JET) Programme Alumni Association annual general meeting in central Birmingham on 19-20 February.

The AGM brought together representatives of four of JETAA UK’s six regional chapters and was an opportunity for chapters to gather and share ideas and experiences from the past twelve months. They also looked ahead, coordinating activities for the next year at both a national and regional level.

The meeting included updates from JLGC and the Embassy of Japan as well as presentations from each of the chapters in attendance. There was also an election for selecting the 2011 UK Committee members; congratulations to the new UK Chair Josy Audigier. Topics discussed during the weekend included how to increase participation in regional events and how to support the establishment of new chapters.
