This autumn our office will host two short term trainees from our Tokyo headquarters, who will use their stay in London to research tourism promotion and heritage asset policies to benefit their home local authorities in Arakawa Ward, Tokyo and Nagoya City. During this time they will visit London Boroughs, London Open House/Open City, London & Partners and the HEART organisation in Norwich.
Last year the Tokyo Metropolitan Government (TMG) resumed its training programme for posting its staff overseas on short study-focused placements. Our office will receive several delegates from TMG this autumn, posted from the Bureaus of Environment, Taxation and Urban Development. As part of their stay in London, a series of visits will be made in support of research around local taxation, anti-social behaviour, retro-fitting of buildings, congestion charging and airport connections.
Our office and Tokyo Metropolitan Government would like to thank the Greater London Authority, London Councils and Transport for London for their invaluable assistance in supporting the city to city learning programme around the common challenges faced by both London and Tokyo.
