Assistant Director Yoshihisa Ogawa and Research Manager Andrew Stevens visited the University of Greenwich Business School’s Economic Development Resource Centre this week for a CLAIR report on local authority policies for tourism promotion as part of local economic development. Staff from the centre presented on their work around the regeneration challenges facing seaside towns in the UK, particularly in light of the shift in emphasis from regional tourism promotion bodies to the new Local Enterprise Partnerships. We also discussed the prospect of future cooperation around knowledge transfer and the centre’s manager James Kennell‘s forthcoming trip to Oita University for a conference on arts-led regeneration.
