First Minister of the Welsh Government Carwyn Jones has stated that “links between Wales and Japan can play a major role in driving forward economic recovery and greater prosperity.”
The First Minister praised the work of the British Ambassador to Japan, Mr. David Warren, and his staff in helping employees of the Welsh Government in Tokyo after the earthquake and tsunami of March 11. He also empathised the strong economic and cultural links between Wales and Japan, saying:
“I am confident that Japan will overcome the trauma of recent events. Now we also look forward to a brighter future, in which we leave behind us the shadow of recession and advance to greater prosperity. And on that journey I know our friendship will stand us in good stead.”
