Embassy Reports on JET and JETAA Activities

The Embassy of Japan in the UK have posted up a special article on the Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Programme and the JET Alumni Association in the United Kingdom. Featuring a piece from former JETAA Chairman Julian Paisley, the article gives a nice overview of the organisation, now in its 20th year:

The Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Programme and JET Alumni Association go from Strength to Strength!

The JET Programme was established in 1987 with the purpose of increasing mutual understanding between the people of Japan and the people of other nations. It aims to promote internationalisation in Japan’s local communities by helping to improve foreign language education and developing international exchange at a community level.

JETAA is made up of ex-JETs who have returned to their own countries and the UK branch of which was set up in 1990. Visit the JETAA UK page to find out more about its 20th anniversary.
