As mentioned on the Toyota UK blog, UK Business Secretary Vince Cable toured Toyota’s Burnaston plant in Derbyshire yesterday and officially launched production of the first Auris Hybrid cars.

Toyota’s decision to make Burnaston the only plant in the world to build the Hybrid Auris is a strong endorsement of the UK as a manufacturing base for the next generation of cars.

The Derbyshire-Toyota link was officially commemorated by the local authority partners and the Toyota company at our 2008 Japan Day Seminar.
